Modern Georgia Backyard Wedding
Melanie + Alex - Georgia lush green and modern backyard wedding
One of my favorite things about destination weddings is that I have the whole trip to really focus on the wedding and the couple and get into the vibe of the day. When I do weddings at home I’m living real life being a mom and cleaning my house up until I get in my car to drive to the wedding. When I’m in a destination I am able to transport myself and really go all-in for a full weekend experience with this couple and this wedding. The photos are always so much more emotional and involved for me, which I hope portrays through my art.
On this event, I was able to spend some time with the bride and groom and their bridal party the evening that I flew in. That helped so that I was able to form connections and relationships with the bridal party, and a deeper connection with my bride and groom, which helped evoke a much more natural and comfortable photo experience.
Melanie has worked in the wedding industry for a while now and definitely knew what she wanted. I love a bride that knows what she wants because she’s so much more likely to make it actually come to life! I always tell people that I can’t take photos of things that didn’t happen! No matter how amazing the photos are, if it wasn’t a beautiful wedding, it’s not going to look like the wedding itself was beautiful - that’s just that! But that definitely wasn’t the case here. Melanie had a stunning vision, picked the perfect venue, and made it happen.
This venue is a historic property in Griffin, Georgia called Meadowlark 1939. It’s the perfect movie-like home that you’d picture in your mind if you pictured a historic home in the countryside of Georgia. Melanie also pulled together her dream-team of vendors. Including Something Blue Orlando as the planner, and Alyssa Maldonado Design Florals.
